00:00Hi, my name is Maddie and I'm a junior for Dunbar cheer and this is my room.

00:05I just wanted to show you guys some of my cheer stuff that's really important to me.

00:16So first I have my world's jacket that we won in 2017.

00:23This is really important to me because it's my only white jacket.

00:27So a white jacket is kind of like a trophy in the cheer world.

00:30It's a really big deal because it's like what everyone gets when we win.

00:40These are my two medals from national, well one's from state and one's from national.

00:46So this one is from world's and it's when we won, I got it with the white jacket.

00:52And then this one is from state in 2016 and we won state that year and then this is the

01:00world's one and these are important to me just because it's one of the only medals that

01:04I have from like getting first so that's why these are special.

01:13My cheer backpack is a really big deal just because it's what we carry everything in and

01:18it has our name on it.

01:20And this one's really important to me just because one of the alumni's she used to babysit

01:25me and she cheered for Dunbar and since her name was Maddie she gave me a bunch of her

01:30stuff like her palms too.

01:32So she gave me her backpack.

01:33A lot of times like when we're not wearing like our uniform and it says like Dunbar like

01:37cheerleading in like big letters it says like Dunbar cheer on the backpack.

01:43So like even when I'm just out like in public and like not even cheering or like at a competition

01:50it lets people know that like I'm a Dunbar cheerleader.

01:52So that's why Miss Martin always tells us to like be like good sports and everything

01:56even when we're not wearing uniforms because we have this on a lot.

02:06Cheer shoes are different from regular shoes because they don't have as much like padding

02:10on them and they're not as heavy so it's easier to do like tumbling and jumps and all that

02:16in.

02:17The cheer shoes are also like super flexible like they like the toe bends a lot and mine

02:23are super old like they have like a hole in them and it's kind of bad.

02:27I should probably get some new ones but I don't know I just like holding on to them.

02:37The last thing are my pink palms.

02:42They're really bright.

02:43The only time we use these is for breast cancer awareness and so we use them in October and

02:49we usually just use them for football games and these are special because these were also

02:54Maddie Oberg so she gave me a lot of the palms and other like cheer shirts and stuff like

03:00that.

03:01So I've had these every year I've been cheering for Dunbar.

03:13And I'm ready.

03:14So baby build a rocket ship and put me on it.
