Cinéaste.feminist. I am a freelance film maker and theatre director making documentaries and films commissioned by a wide range of sources. I had an established theatre, television and radio career in Iran before having to choose the exile in France after the Islamic regime came to power. I founded Atelier e Théâtre with Bijan Mofid in1964 and our first presentation was very famous Shahr e Gheseh, 3 generation of success. This work permit creation of Workshop ( kargah e nemayesh. 10 most important years of modern theater of iran) I was a member of the ‘Independent Cinema’, a progressive and avant-garde film institute before the 1979 Revolution. I have managed to remain active in other fields such as women’s movement and build an alliance between my artistic work and my other commitments. I am passionate about my work and my commissions and projects become an integrated part of my life. Throughout my professional and personal life, I have remained a solid women’s rights advocate and activist. I am a highly energetic, adaptable and versatile artist.
