Fascinated by the clarity of Scandinavian folk music and inspired by the warm, long Swedish summer nights, two violinists and one cellist found each other in 2016 to play nordic folk music. The fun paused when the original cellist surprisingly returned to her native France in the summer of 2019. But, as violinist Barbara Steinacker claims: 'hälm' above all means happiness and luck. So shortly afterwards Natasha Jaffé joined with new momentum, enthusiasm, and a fresh program. Another few months later, the pandemic forced the trio to take another hiatus. After another personnel switch and meeting Davis West, hälm is back full-speed with fresh colorful layers of acoustic string sound.
