Allan Munene (DJ UV) has always had an ear for electronic music
having been introduced to it at an early age
listening to the likes of Sasha, Judge Jules, Kerry Chandler,John Digweed… however with time he went deeper into electronic music and
discovered Deep House & Techno which have become his first love ever since.This has seen him turn-tables practically at every decent club in Nairobi,from the Carnivore & Black Cotton to Brew Bistro & Mercury Lounge.

He got interested in djing and learnt the tricks quickly from his mentors
at the time: Drazen , Kuzi and Kenroots all Kenyan djs,he then joined one of
Kenya’s most celebrated djing outfits 6:AM early 2008,rocking parties at Pavement,Black Cotton,Horseman,BlueTimes among other venues.

He later on teamed up with Vinsky David and Vapour to form one of the craziest dj outfits in Kenya- Turbofunk Djs.In 2009,his talent was discovered and was given a slot as a Dj on the radio show- Styles in Session – Croatia by Style Angel.

Its also in early 2010 that he teamed up with celebrated Kenyan disc Jockey,Dj Protege and hosted the ONLY Electronic Dance Music Radioshow then DANCE REPUBLIC on Capital FM .Summer 2010 he joined Dance Radio Global- Greece where he has a monthly Radio show every 3rd Wednesday of the month- RADIO ACTIVE SESSIONS.

2011 has seen him take up residencies at Mercury Lounge and Captain’s club Casino as well as play massive events in Kenya including Earthdance Nairobi .Playing alongside heavyweights such as Amine Edge, Orli,Clive Bean,Deadbeat FM, Jahawi, Blush and Bass,among others.

2012 has seen DJ UV headline not one but two events in Kigali Rwanda and a massive NYE party at Bora Bora beach Burundi.

2013 has seen him share the stage with Edward Maya and also a residency at Bacchus Weslands with DJ Protege every thursday.The only EDM weekly residency in Nairobi and the most happening night in the city.

All said and done we all know that wherever DJ UV is
playing its bound to be one hell of a party.
