Daeyong Ra

I am a professional freelance trumpet performer based in Vancouver BC, Canada. I currently perform Principal trumpet with the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra. I perform 2nd trumpet or occasional Principal trumpet with the Songs, Strings and Steps orchestra, I am an extra trumpeter with the Vancouver Island Symphony Orchestra in Nanaimo. I also performed with the Prince George Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Chamber Orchestra, North Shore Sinfonia, Canada West Chamber Orchestra and other ensembles. My biggest thrill was when I performed with Idina Menzel on June 1, 2012 and when I performed with the Canadian Tenors in 2009.

I teach trumpet at my studio and with the Beethoven At Home music program. I also teach students registered through the Royal Conservatory of Music.

I have a "non-music" job working at Purolator Courier Inc. as a sorter. It helps pay some bills and has great benefits.
