Debenhams launched in Karachi, Pakistan.

Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan has stated that government was sincerely committed to fostering bilateral trade ties with UK, anticipating that Debenhams' arrival here would prove beneficial for the country he maintained that it would open several opportunities in the local market in terms of jobs & retail growth. He was speaking at the Media Launch of (Britain's) Debenhams, Pakistan's first international department store, here at Dolmen City Mall.

Britain's favourite department store, 'Debenhams' opened its first store in Pakistan at Dolmen City Mall, Clifton, Karachi in partnership with Team-A Ventures, with plans for further stores nationwide. The 27,000sq ft store is Pakistan's first ever international department store. Debenhams will be joining other British brands in Pakistan like Next, Mother care, Early Learning Centre, Accessorize and Monsoon to bring popular goods to a growing market.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan said, "The Pakistani government is sincerely committed to fostering bilateral trade ties between Pakistan and UK. I would like to congratulate Yasin Paracha and Adnan Hamid for bringing one of the best fashion international stores to Pakistan. Debenhams entry into Pakistan will open several opportunities in the local market in terms of jobs, retail growth and of course fashion. I believe this will prove beneficial not only in the growth of this city but also the country."

Yasin Paracha Managing Director Team-A Ventures (TAV) - Debenhams franchisee here - held that outstanding product was coupled with excellent customer service, an inspiring environment, visual merchandising & imaginative in-store promotions ensuring competitive prices. He further informed that TAV had plans for a number of stores nationwide. Adnan Hamid GM Debenhams Pakistan held that they intended to challenge the existing market pushing its limits & take a leap towards making the quality of life better.
