The Rockettes perform on a Norwegian cruise ship.

On May 8th, 2013, one of the largest passenger ships ever built held a one-of-a-kind show featuring New York's famous Rockettes.

The Norwegian Breakaway, capable of carrying exactly 4,028 sea going travelers, was docked at Pier 88 in the city.

The Rockettes, the ships godmothers, blessed the liner during the over hour-long event and showcased their signature matching dresses and well-known high kicks.

The 18-deck beautiful vessel has a New York City vibe to it, depicting a colorful mural of skyscrapers and the State of Liberty on the exterior. The ship will also feature an outdoor hot dog stand, reminiscent of the city’s street vendors and Broadway performances.

Another major name in the cruise industry, Royal Caribbean recently unveiled its newest ship along with its own unparalleled, unique characteristic. The Quantum of the Seas features a ride called the North Star, which will take travelers inside of a glass capsule that is attached to a rotating arm.

That crane-like arm can rise approximately 300 feet above the sea, allowing cruise ship passenger's unbeatable views of the ocean.
