BBC's Wild West: Billy the Kid

BBC Wild West documentary: Billy the Kid – A debate on whether or not Billy the Kid should've been given a posthumous pardon by the former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson. Watch as historians (Fred Nolan & Paul Hutton) debate against opposition if Billy was really a coldblooded killer or a victim of circumstances, and whether he should be pardon or not. As it turned out, Richardson would later decline pardoning Billy the Kid because he felt that since Billy killed James Bell and Bob Ollinger during his jailbreak, he forfeited the pardon that he earned. Yet, as Paul Hutton would say, if Wallace had stuck to his end of the bargain, Billy would never have been responsible for the death of James Carlyle or killed James Bell and Bob Ollinger during his jailbreak. Not to mention, Tom O'Folliard and Charlie Bowdre also wouldn't have been killed. As it was, Wallace's betrayal would cost more than just Billy the Kid's life.
