What is Modafinil used for
Modafinil is used in the treatment of narcolepsy, cataplexy,
Obstructive sleep apnea, shift work sleep disorder, idiopathic hypersomnia and
Other disorders characterized by hypersomnia or excessive sleepiness
Modafinil is extensively used off-label for:
Sleep suppression, combating sleep unrelated general fatigue (tired with enough sleep),
Treating ADHD & ADD, as an aid to antidepressants, for increased energy,
And also to improve cognitive functions like concentration, mental endurance and memory
Modafinil is also used off-label for many other situations, including
Opiate and cocaine addiction, Parkinson's Disease or schizophrenia,
But, these uses are for the most part unsubstantiated
In most situations,
I would advise against using Modafinil
