SOUNDBITE: Pentagon Spokesperson George Little saying:

"On the Decatur and the Mccain, they have arrived at predetermined positions in the western Pacific, where they will be poised to respond to any missile threats to our allies or our territory."

The change by the U.S. is in response to increasingly hostile moves by Pyongyang --- the latest being North Korea's announced plan to revive a nuclear reactor capable of bomb-grade plutonium.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry had this message for North Korea.
