"On the Decatur and the Mccain, they have arrived at predetermined positions in the western Pacific, where they will be poised to respond to any missile threats to our allies or our territory."
The change by the U.S. is in response to increasingly hostile moves by Pyongyang --- the latest being North Korea's announced plan to revive a nuclear reactor capable of bomb-grade plutonium.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry had this message for North Korea.

"We've heard an extraordinary amount of unacceptable rhetoric from the North Korean government in the last days. So let me be perfectly clear here today, the United States will defend and protect ourselves and our treaty ally, the Republic of Korea."
