In Buenos Aires, they waded through flooded streets --- the aftermath of a heavy downpour.

Torrential rains killed five people in the capital. Teams navigated canal-like streets to rescue trapped locals.

While others perched and tried to wait out the rising water levels.

In areas that weren't completely submerged, residents still had to contend with debris from what meteorologists say was a record rainfall for the month of April in Argentina.
