North Koreans voice support for Pyongyang's threats to target U.S

Residents in Pyongyang gather to listen to the news that North Korea will target U.S. military bases as allies tighten sanctions against the country.

They voice their support.

(SOUNDBITE) (Korean) PYONGYANG RESIDENT, SO CHOL GYUN, SAYING:

"My heart is burning with revengeful thought. Such provocation can no longer be allowed. I am ready to turn out in a great war of justice to reduce the U.S. mainland to ashes."

(SOUNDBITE) (Korean) PYONGYANG RESIDENT, KIM TONG UK, SAYING:

"How dare the Yankee wolves in human skin insult the dignity of our supreme leadership? The DPRK army and people are in full readiness. Once respected Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un gives an order, they will turn out as one to destroy the strongholds of the U.S. forces and sweep out those Yankees from the earth."

At the White House spokesman Jay Carney dismissed the threat.
