We Are Chesterfield. A Dynamic, 7 piece, Modern Funk/Indie Soul Band, from Austin, Texas, that lives to put on High-Energy, Audience grabbin, Booty Shakin, shows.
Spawned from a mutual love of funk and soul music, and born out of weekly jam sessions with other local musicians, Andy Cowden (guitar), Sean Ferrell (Bass), and founding member Rsi (Drums) form the foundation for what would become Chesterfield. After months of honing their skills they decide to reach out and find a vocalist. Enter Matthew Vaught. With lyrics and song writing underway Chesterfield is officially born. With the addition of 3 key members falling into place, Andy Tenberg (Guitar), Justin Hindman (Keys) and Raymond Johnson (Saxophone) all join the band and complete the line-up.
Together, we 7 men, gather our influences from a wide range of experience/knowledge, and form a band that creates music thats as deep and emotional as it is sexy and fun.
Musically we're influenced by some of the greats. From Pioneering Blues Men to Classic soul legends. Funk All-Stars and Rock Gods. Not to mention the Modern Greats.
"If Motown records we're still around and they were making Modern, Indie Funk/Soul music we'd be their work horse band! We make you get down and then pick you back up!" -CF
