We here at Balcony TV Edmonton are extremely pleased and lucky to offer you this week's video from Toronto's The Flatliners! As part of their '10 years at Sea' anniversary tour, Chris and Scott from the band were swell enough to come join us on the Balcony to brave a slightly chilly (other more accurate phrases would be: freezing, cold-as-hell, face-melting (yes, so cold it conversely melts your face,) and in Chris's case, finger and throat numbing,) evening before playing their beyond sold-out Edmonton show. It's been a productive and distance-heavy decade for The Flatliners, having their albums released by punk-heavyweight label Fat Wreck Chords, supporting some of alternative music's biggest bands such as Against Me!, The Dropkick Murphys, and Nofx, on countless tours that have seen them zig and zag across the globe. They've toured throughout Europe, (including previous Balcony slots in Ireland and Germany over the years,) Russia, Japan, Australia, and more continent-crossing jaunts in North America than you have fingers and toes (and if not, please consult a physician ya mutant!) oh humble viewer. Not bad for a few friends from Ontario who started out looking to make noise and name songs after Will Ferrell skits. And believe me; the best has yet to come from these guys. It's truly unique to come across a band that shares such warmth for one another and we're happy to have been able to play a small part in their anniversary celebration. Keep your eyes peeled to what's in store for them over the next decade and be assured that it's only a matter of time before these Mel-Gibson-esque Road Warriors are passing by your town.
