Ferries connect people in remote places. But what happens when seas and waterways freeze over? Often people living on islands have to go to places on foot or just wait for the spring thaw. But in Finland they found a practical solution to the problem years ago. When the temperature drops below minus 20 degrees Celsius, ferries are replaced by hovercraft.
