KONOBA - I'VE BEEN DREAMING
PRESENTED BY MICKEY
Konoba are an experimental indie-pop quartet, formed in Brighton in 2011. Raphael Esterhazy initially started Konoba as his solo project while he was working as a producer for a number of up and coming local bands. In June 2011, he released his first EP 'Miami Hotel', followed by 'Mind the Gap' in January 2012. The solo project was then turned into a four piece band with the additions of multi-instrumentalists Leo Humphries, Ben Bashi and John Shaffer and they started working together on a new album entitled 'Coulours & Shapes'. Although the full album will only come out in March 2013, the first single 'I've been dreaming' has already won 'Best song', 'Best music video' and the 'Audience award' at the latest London 48h music video project. Konoba's influences are vast and varied but certainly their latest work is reminiscent of Radiohead and Alt-J with its hard hitting and quirky use of beats and rhythms, while James Blake and the Fleet Foxes provide inspiration for the softer more sensual melody based sections.
