Luca Gemma is an italian indie-pop-rock singer and songwriter. His career started in the 90′s in Milano, Italy, with Rossomaltese, a folk-rock band that generated a very personal style in the indie italian scene, with two albums- Santantonio (coproduced by Tony Bowers, bass player of the Simply Red) and Mosche Libere -- and more then 350 gigs in Italy and France, also as opening act for Caetano Veloso, Tito Puente and Billy Bragg.
He has been writing lots of songs for other singers, for moviesoundtracks and for national radio, tv and theatre productions.
To be mentioned also a lasting collaboration with Steve Piccolo (bassplayer and co-founder of the New York band Lounge Lizards) and Gak Sato (dj and producer from Tokyo) that brought to an album, Expedition, in 2004, distributed in Europe and Japan. They toured together for over 4 years collaborating also with New York guitarist and composer Elliot Sharp.
New studio solo-album of Luca, Supernaturale, is out since February 2012, follow up to his highly acclaimed former albums: Saluti da Venus, 2004, Tecniche di Illuminazione, 2007 and Folkadelic, 2010. In these years he has been touring all around Italy, also opening the shows of Blonde Redhead, Archive, Paolo Nutini and Donavon Frankenreiter and has been invited to play in festivals in Manchester and Luxemburg.
Luca is now on tour, both with an electric band and alone for acoustic shows.
