Brazilian-born designer Francisco Costa created a mysterious mood for Fall 2013 with midnight blue and black as the signature colors at his Calvin Klein Women's runway show on Thursday (February 14) at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.

Costa gave his structured coats, tailored skirts and dresses an edge with military trim and accessories. Black boots, some in biker mode, completed most of the 33 looks on his fall runway.

Bare skin played a bigger role in this fall collection than in the past. Some bandeau tops and dresses featured a wrap detail in back, exposing slices of bare skin.

"I felt I had to celebrate this woman, you know," Costa told Reuters. "The sexiness, the bareness, it's so much fun, and it also ties so much with casting, with a mix of ages and gorgeous women. So, play a little bit more of the skin. It feels so natural."
