Its a political situation in Maldives that has put India in a spot of bother. The former President Mohamed Nasheed who sought refuge in the Indian high commission in Male is still holed up inside the embassy. An angry Maldivian govt has told India not to meddle in its internal affairs. Nasheed, a candidate in the Sept 7 presidential polls, took refuge in the mission Tuesday after a court issued an arrest order for failing to attend a hearing over the illegal detention of a judge.
