Police, politicians raze illegal settlements in Mumbai

In a surprising move local political leaders led a demolition drive in Mumbai's Neelam Nagar locality over the weekend, not just razing over 300 illegally constructed makeshift hutments, but also destroying the belongings of the squatters. However the BMC was conspicuously absent, prompting questions whether the drive was legal or not.
