Flag meet: Indian army to lodge protest

After many attempts to evade the direct talks, Pakistan has finally agreed to a flag meet with India in Poonch sector on Monday (Jan 14) to defuse the tension along the Line of Control. At the flag meeting, the Indian side is expected to strongly protest the Pakistani intrusion and the beheading of a soldier, and demand the return of the severed head, believed to have been carried by Pakistani army regulars as a trophy after the killing of two Indian soldiers on January 8. Even as the two sides are prepared for a flag meeting of top commanders, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire yet again on Sunday night, firing at Indian posts in Poonch sector.
