Petrol bombs thrown at protesters in Cairo

The aftermath of an attack on protesters in the Egyptian capital, which left at least 15 people injured.

Tents and medical equipment were burnt as unknown attackers threw petrol bombs at the camp outside the presidential palace in Cairo.

Witnesses say a makeshift medical clinic was burnt down.

Along with injured protesters, a number of soldiers were also wounded after being deployed to arrest the attackers.

Officials said they faced rubber bullets.

One protester said there could have been as many as 30 attackers.

Demonstrators have been camped outside the palace for weeks in protest against an Islamist-backed constitution.
