The Newshour Debate: State dodging on Owaisi? (Part 2 of 2)

MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, who faces charges of making "hate speech", on Monday (January 7), moved the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking quashing of FIRs filed against him, even as the BJP accused the Andhra Pradesh government of going soft on him. Owaisi, who has been booked at three police stations, arrived from London on Monday morning at the airport where a large number of his supporters had gathered.

In a debate moderated by TIMES NOW's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, panelists -- Abid Rasool Khan, Spokesperson and Gen Sec Andhra Pradesh State Congress; Nirmala Sitharaman, National Spokesperson, BJP; Dr. Tasleem Ahmed Rehmani, President, Muslim Political Council of India and Dr Subramaniam Swamy, President, Janata Party -- discuss whether Andhra Govt and Andhra police explain why they are giving a long rope to Akbaruddin Owaisi.
