The teams met just over two weeks ago and it was the Saints with the 31-27 home win against Atlanta as a -2 point betting favorite. The total in the game went over 53 ½ points. NFL Trend: The under is 2-0 in their past two meetings held in Atlanta.

The Saints fell to 5-6 on the season after a 31-21 home defeat to the San Francisco 49ers last week as a +3 point underdog. The total came in at over 50 points. It was a 14-14 tie as the half but the Saints get outscored by the 49ers 17-7 in the second half. The Saints put up 290 yards of offense with just 59 running the football for less than three yards a carry. Drew Brees hit on 26 of 41 throws for 267 yards with three touchdowns and two picks. On the season Brees has 31 touchdowns and 11 picks. New Orleans allowed the San Francisco offense to produce 375 yards with 144 on the ground for 4 ½ yards per attempt. The Saints in a midst of a very difficult schedule down the stretch. This is a bad spot for New Orleans having to take the field so soon after facing a tough bone bruising hard hitting team like the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The 49ers game took its toll to the Saints offensive line as they are dealing with injuries there.

The Falcons have won two straight. They improve to 10-1 on the season following a 24-23 road win at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a -1 point betting favorite. The game ended under 51 points. Atlanta amassed 424 yards of offense with 79 coming from their ground game for under 3 ½ yards per carry. Matt Ryan completed 26 of 32 throws for 353 yards a touchdown and pick. On the season Ryan has 21 touchdowns and 13 picks. Atlanta allowed the Buccaneers offense to post 326 yards with only 50 coming from their ground attack for 2 ½ yards per carry. They hold a 1 ½ game lead in the NFC Conference standings for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Last week continued a string of close victories this season. Atlanta behind Matt Ryan is always tough in the Georgia Dome.
