Tom Zé: Explaining Things So I Can Confuse You

In celebration of the iconoclastic master of song, politics, satire and human relations, Luaka Bop is releasing a vinyl-only box set, Studies of Tom Zé: Explaining Things So I Can Confuse You- which pulls together for the first time a trilogy of "studies" on Brazilian musical styles—Massive Hits, Estudando o Pagode, and Estudando a Bossa. The latter two recordings have never been issued on vinyl and the former has never been available in the US. This retrospective collection from the first artist ever signed to Luaka Bop is limited edition and hand numbered. The box also includes a Tom Zé/Tortoise 7'' recorded live at the Barbican, a CD conversation between Zé, David Byrne, and Arto Lindsay, and a vinyl sized 12 page booklet written by Brazilian scholar Christopher Dunn. All video imagery here taken from the extraordinary-and award winning documentary TOM ZÉ ASTRONAUTA LIBERTADO by Ígor Iglesias González.
