For Gary Clark Jr. strapping on a guitar and stepping on stage is when he comes alive.

SOUNDBITE: Gary Clark Jr., musician, saying (English):

"When I hit that stage and put the guitar on, it's go time. That's just when I feel most comfortable and I'm ready to rock."

The 28-year-old blues guitarist hails from Austin, Texas and has been a part of the established music scene for more than a decade.

The once shy performer is now a confident band leader and part mad scientist when it comes to creating new sounds.

SOUNDBITE: Gary Clark Jr., musician, saying (English):

"I actually have a couple of rooms I call 'The Lab.' I've got drums and keys, turntables, then all my horns and all my guitars, anything, like all my instruments. I will sit there when I'm at home for hours and hours and hours and maybe, days, and just freak out in that room and see what happens."

Clark released his full-length album "Blak and Blu" in October.

His single "Bright Lights" will be featured in the promos and closing credits for a new series created by Nokia Music and the Sundance Channel.
