A Palestinian militant group claimed responsibility on Tuesday (November 13) for a missile attack on an Israeli jeep patrol that sparked four days of cross-border violence.

Salahudeen Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC), said during a news conference that their fighters had fired a Cornet anti-tank missile against the Israeli jeep on Saturday (November 10).

Amateur video distributed by the militant group showed a missile hitting what the PRC claims was an Israeli army jeep patrolling the border area.

Tensions rose sharply following the rocket attack that wounded four Israeli soldiers patrolling the Israel-Gaza border.

Israel responded with tank fire and air strikes that killed six Palestinians, including four civilians, and left at least 40 wounded.
