Plot :
Bir-Hakeim, the renowned maquis was formed with spanish republicans, german antifascists, french patriots of all religions and ages. On the 27th of may 1944, the Kommandatur in Mende, Lozere department, is warned that rebels are in the town of La Borie.
Captain Lange settles an encirclement strategy. Among the troops, an Armenian legionnaire, forced to commit in the Wermacht army, obeys reluctantly. Among the enemy camps, the unquestioned leader of the maquis, Commandant Barot, quietly prepares the departure for the next day. Popeye, 15 years old, is the youngest of the maquisards. He takes the mission the captain gave him to heart: he must keep the pennant of the group whatever the cost.
Synopsis :
Républicains espagnols, anti-fascistes allemands, patriotes français, de toutes religions et de tous âges, composèrent le célèbre maquis Bir-Hakeim. Le 27 mai 1944, la Kommandantur de Mende, en Lozère, est alertée de la présence des "rebelles" au village de la Borie...
Le Capitaine Lange échafaude un plan d'encerclement. Parmi ses troupes, un légionnaire arménien, engagé de force dans la Wermacht, obéit malgré lui. De l'autre côté, le commandant Barot, chef incontesté du maquis, prépare tranquillement le départ du lendemain. Popeye, 15 ans, est le plus jeune des maquisards. Il prend très à coeur la mission que lui a donné son Capitaine, de conserver le fanion du groupe coûte que coûte...
