Do you like Dutch oven cooking? I certainly do and I’d like to share a Spicy Black Bean recipe that I cooked in my Bayou Classic 8½ quart Dutch oven. You may be wondering, what’s so special about a Dutch oven? Well, let’s talk about that for a minute.

First of all, when it comes to Dutch ovens I am very much a traditionalist. I use only cast iron Dutch ovens. I love my old fashioned cast iron. It’s tough and durable, extremely versatile, and has great heat retention qualities. Also, food cooked in cast iron cookware just seems to taste better.
