Eid Al-Adha in Asia

As Muslims across the world prepare for Eid Al-Adha, thousands of Bangladeshis in Dhaka try to reach their home villages.
It's no easy task.
Ferry terminals are so packed with people that some have to take smaller boats out to chase after their ride.
(SOUNDBITE) (Bengali) PASSENGER SABER ALI, SAYING:
"I am going to the village to celebrate Eid with my family, but there's too much rush on the ferries I can't take a ferry through the terminal so I took this boat to reach here."
The main train station is also filled with people, all trying to get on their train in any possible way.
(SOUNDBITE) (Bengali) FEMALE PASSENGER SAHANA BEGUM, SAYING:
"To celebrate Eid festival I am going to my home, I bought a ticket but I could not get into that train. This one is also very crowded, it is impossible for me to take this train, it is just hopeless. But I must find a way to go home. Let me see what I can do."
In the Philippines, about 1,000 Muslims gathered in a downtown park in Manila to pray.
Despite early morning rain showers, many still joined the prayers led by an imam.
Some families held a picnic after the prayers.
Thousands of Indonesians prayed in Jakarta's Istiqlal Grand Mosque.
Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono also visited to pray with the followers. He gave two cows to the mosque to be sacrificed.
