STORY: British designer Stella McCartney, known for her classic English tailoring and rich country tweeds, collaborated with European retail chain C&A to launch an accessibly priced collection available in Mexico during the autumn season.

Models were sent down the runway wearing tailored suits, silk shirts, and silk dresses. They showed off the clothing while playing musical chairs.

The British designer presented a ready-to-wear collection that was young, fun, feminine and light at the former convent of San Hipolito in the middle on Mexico City on Thursday (October 18) evening.

The collection includes emblematic pieces from McCartney's recent collections.

Hem-lines were kept short, torsos tight, and electric blues, whites and pinks gave a hint of uplifting color to each ensemble.

Speaking at the end of the show, McCartney said she hoped her fans liked the collection.

"I hope that you enjoy it. I hope that you bring it into your homes and into your wardrobes and it's with you for a very long time," she said.

The collection will be available from October 29, 2012 in dozens of C&A stores around Mexico and prices range from 449.00 pesos ($34.92 dollars) to 3,999.00 pesos ($311.00 dollars) per piece.
