Lohan and kids of Michael Jackson hit the carpet, Streisand returns to Brooklyn

Lindsay Lohan and the children of Michael Jackson touched off a media frenzy at a red carpet event taking place in Beverly Hills Thursday night (October 11). The stars were among the many that attended the launch of an energy drink, where the the mainstream media along with the paparazzi lined the red carpet arrival line. Lohan, who made headlines with family problems in the last week, was the last to arrive at the event. Michael Jackson's children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, were joined on the red carpet with their aunt La Toya.

Barbra Streisand returned home to Brooklyn, New York on Thursday (October 11) for the first of two concerts at the borough's new arena. Streisand opened the show with "If We Never Say Goodbye" and then revealed she was battling a cold by drinking chicken soup in between songs. The concert, dubbed "Back To Brooklyn," was Streisand's first-ever in her hometown borough.

Tom Hanks will make his Broadway debut as a tabloid journalist in the Nora Ephron play, Lucky Man. Hanks previously collaborated with screenwriter Ephron, who died in June, on the hit films Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail. The play, which opens in April, marks Hanks' first Broadway role.

Whitney Houston was given a final sendoff by the Grammys on Thursday as Halle Berry, Britney Spears, Jennifer Hudson, Usher and other stars shared their memories and performed in homage to the late singer. Spears, while talking to the media backstage, called Houston the greatest voice of all time. Jennifer Hudson sang a heart-felt rendition of one of Houston's most famous songs, "I Will Always Love You."
