Wall Street Edges Up After Jobless Claim Data

U.S. stocks opened higher on Thursday after an unexpected drop in weekly jobless claims.

According to government data, the number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits fell sharply last week to the lowest level in more than four and a half years.
