Impressions Of The Devastating Earthquake Are Still Etched In The Memories Of The People: Altaf Hussain

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has paid tributes to the martyrs of the catastrophic earthquake that struck Azad Kashmir and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on 8th October 2005. He said that the impressions of the devastating earthquake were still etched in the memories of the people of Pakistan. In a message on the 7th anniversary of the calamity, Mr Hussain said that thousands of lives were perished, hundreds of people became physically disabled and families upon families were uprooted. It was a national disaster and the tragic day on which it struck could never be forgotten.
Mr Hussain said that the MQM was the first political party that had reached in Azad Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for bringing relief to the calamity-hit people. He praised the Co-ordination Committee, elected representatives, volunteers of the KKF and members of the Medical Aid Committee of the MQM for their selfless services in the earthquake affected areas. The KKF was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan for its meritorious services in helping the people hit by the earthquake. He prayed for the martyrs of the earthquake.
