Central leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Dr Farooq Sattar Saturday said his party will be able to bring the dissident allies round over the issue of LG Ordinance.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion of OPF Phase-2's inauguration, Dr. Sattar regretted that the 'democratic government' has still not held local government elections in any province.
On the issue of dual nationality of members of the Parliament and provincial assemblies, he said the expatriates as well as those holding dual nationalities are Pakistanis.
The overseas Pakistanis despite being our fellow nationals have not been granted right to vote. The overseas Pakistanis can be granted this right by introducing amendment to the Article 63-1(c) of the Constitution, he added.
The MQM leader also condoled with former president Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) over the demise of her mother.
Commenting on the issue of Balochistan, Dr Sattar said it should be resolved before the next general elections.
