Immigrants have been known to turn to desperate measures to get into certain countries.
However, border officials were astounded at the lengths one man went to, in an effort to gain entry into Spain. A 20-year-old man was busted after authorities discovered him taking the place of foam and underlayment in the passenger seat of a car.
Two Moroccan men, who allegedly assisted in the concealment were also in the vehicle, one of whom was sitting on top of the hidden individual.
A Police spokesperson states “We've seen some fairly bizarre attempts to get across the border but nothing like this before.”
The hiding immigrant managed to get his whole body into the seat’s frame and officers had to assist him in getting out. All three men were detained.
Earlier this year, several residents from California were busted for operating a human smuggling plot. Immigrants were hiding in specially designed areas including under the hood of vehicles. During the illegal operation, dozens were allegedly brought to Los Angles from Mexico every month.
