A convoy of around 200 cars drives through the streets of Manila, opposing a U.S.-made film that demeans Islam.

The motorcade travelled along a seven kilometre stretch of the Filipino capital, stopping to protest outside the U.S. embassy.

An online clip of the controversial film, with crude dubbing, sparked demonstrations across the world that turned violent in a number of Islamic countries.

Filipino Muslim demonstrators demanded an online ban on the film.

"If this is not removed or blocked from YouTube, it might spark a war across the world, including here in the Philippines. We want this to be blocked in the Philippines so the country remains peaceful."

Despite the strong rhetoric, this protest and other similar protests in the Philippines against the movie have remained peaceful.

Several countries with majority Muslim populations have blocked the YouTube video sharing site because of the film clip.
