Anti-Islamic film protesters torch cinemas in Pakistan

A cinema in flames as it comes under attack by demonstrators in the Pakistani city of Peshawar on Friday.

But this angry mob's taken to the streets with the government's blessing.

Pakistan's government, wary of widespread frustration over its failure to provide basic services, declared Friday a day of protest over the US-made film.

In the city of Muzaffarabad, capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, over ten thousand people joined the protest, some burning an effigy of U.S. President Barack Obama.

They are protesting a low budget film that portrays the Prophet Mohammad engaged in crude and offensive behaviour.
