Demonstrations continue in China and Japan over who owns a group of islands in the East China Sea.
In China- where protests have become increasingly violent in the past days- September 18th also marks the anniversary of the invasion of China by the Japanese in 1931, giving protesters even more fodder for their anger.
People marched and threw water bottles at an already stained Japanese embassy building as police watched on.
And in Japan-- demonstrators gathered in Tokyo's iconic Shibuya district, holding flags and listening to speeches.
The issue heated up last week when the Japanese government announced they were purchasing the group of islands from a private Japanese owner.
Both countries want the islands because of their potential gas resevres.
