Afghans rage against anti-Islam film

Hundreds of university students in Afghanistan rail against a now infamous film about the Prophet Mohammad.

Protesters in Kabul burned a US flag and a poster of President Barack Obama while chanting "Death to America".

The 13-minute film - which portrays Mohammad as a philanderer and fool - is blasphemous, say people here.

SOUNDBITE) (Dari) ABDUL JABAR, UNIVERSITY STUDENT AND ANTI -ISLAM PROPHET, PROTESTER; SAYING:

"Our message to the international community is that if the perpetrators of this brutal act are not put on trial they will face and anger of the Muslims of the world."

The movie, shot in California, has sparked angry protests across the Middle East and North Africa, with demonstrators targeting US embassies.

On Friday, the Taliban also attacked a coalition base in southern Afghanistan, seen here earlier this month.

Insurgents said the raid - which left two US soldiers dead - was in response the film.
