The political posturing has started in the lead up to Germany's elections next year. Former Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier believes he is the man to unseat Chancellor Angela Merkel.
He is the current favourite to win the nomination to lead the Social Democrats into the election. He ruled out a coalition with Merkel's conservatives. "We are going to fight to win," he said.
