Lady Gaga turns perfume launch in to performance art

Lady Gaga doesn't do anything half way. In fact, she usually over does it. The pop star kept to her exaggerated ways with the launch for her new perfume.

In a two day event, Gaga turned a gala into performance art by sleeping in an egg-shaped display bed in the middle of the party. Guests got adventurous and were allowed close enough to poke the sleeping singer. The event also included the debut of a five and a half minute promotional film.

To make the event a little more permanent, Gaga surprised the crowd by getting a fresh tattoo inked on the back of her partially shaved head while guests of the party looked on.

Gaga continued the celebration of her new scent, entitled 'Fame,' Friday (September 14) morning unfolding out of a perfume bottle shaped horse-drawn carriage at Macy's for the official debut of her fragrance in stores. Gaga was decked out in space age black and gold with a metallic, feathery headpiece.

Inside, the 26 year old hosted a private meet and greet with fans.
