Iranian students protested outside the Swiss embassy in Tehran on Thursday (September 13, 2012) against an anti-Islam film that sparked violent reactions in several Muslim countries and the killing of the U.S. ambassador to Libya.

State-controlled Press TV showed video footage of a group of protesters holding banners, chanting slogans and burning a copy of the U.S. flag.

Additional security forces were deployed around the embassy, which looks after U.S. interests in Iran where Washington has no diplomatic relations,

Fars news agency reported. It gave no estimate of the size of the protest.

There has been no reported official reaction from Iran to the killing of the U.S. ambassador and three other diplomats in Libya.

The film has also been repeatedly condemned by the U.S. government and also by a wide swathe of U.S. public opinion.
