Protesters storm U.S. embassy in Yemen

Hundreds of Yemeni demonstrators storm the U.S. embassy in Sanaa -- angry over a film mocking Islam's Prophet Mohammad.

Security guards fired rounds into the air in an attempt to disperse the crowds, who smashed windows and broke through the compound's main gates.

Police also fired water cannon at the protesters.

Yemen's embassy in Washington D.C. said no casualties were reported in the attack.

And an embassy statement emailed to Reuters added that security forces had since restored order at the complex.

The protests follow Tuesday night's storming of the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, where the American ambassador and three other staff members were killed -- and ongoing clashes outside the United States embassy in Cairo.
