The four victims of Wednesday's murder in the French Alps each suffered two direct shots to the head according to state prosecutor Eric Maillaud.

The report followed autopsies conducted on the three members of the British al-Hilli family and a French local man Friday evening.

(SOUNDBITE) (French) FRENCH PROSECUTOR ERIC MAILLAUD SAYING:

"The four people died from multiple shots, I won't dwell on the number, and in any case each of the four people who died suffered two shots to the head. Yesterday I said at least one; it's two for each of the people who died."

He gave no information about the type and number of weapons in the attack.

Ongoing press reports of a family feud between the Iraqi born Saad al-Hilli and his brother continued to circulate Saturday

(SOUNDBITE) (French) FRENCH PROSECUTOR ERIC MAILLAUD SAYING:

"The brother, the famous brother, we've talked about a family dispute, will he be interviewed? Yes, he will be interviewed just like all the members of the al-Hilli family who could, who will, be identified in the days to come. Not more, not less."

Speculation about the attack has included robbery as well as a pre-planned attack by professional hitmen.
