UN suspends Syria observer mission

United Nations observers in Syria spent Sunday confined to their hotel in Damascus, a day after the world body suspended patrols over safety fears.

The mission chief has said UN operations will be reviewed on a daily basis. Yet, the bombardments of cities, such as Homs, are still going on.
