Neil Armstrong remembered

A memorial service will be held on Friday (August 31), remembering the first man to walk on the moon.

On July 20, 1969 astronaut Neil Armstrong made history as he stepped onto the lunar surface.

His iconic words, beamed to millions around the world.

"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

Armstrong became a national hero, hailed alongside his Apollo 11 crewmembers.

Following his death at the age of 82 on Saturday (August 25), many have been paying tribute to the astronaut.

Visitors to Washington's Smithsonian Air and Space Museum reflected on his legacy.

Armstrong will be remembered at a private memorial service in Cincinnati.
