Turkey's retaliation to PKK crosses Iraq border

In response to a recent Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attack that killed 26 Turkish soldiers, Turkish military forces by attacking PKK targets in south east Turkey and Kurdish areas of northern Iraq.

The PKK attacks come after months of sustained aggression from the government of prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan targeting PKK bases in south east Turkey.

Responding to the largest loss of Turkish military life in 20 years, Erdogan today called the PKK sub-contractors to other nations weary of Turkey's gains in the region.
