German man kills wife and two kids, spares infant
Police are investigating this Berlin home, where a man allegedly killed his wife and two of their children earlier this week.
Authorities say he spared the life of the youngest, a one-year-old girl, and then took his own.
A nearby hospital meanwhile confirmed that the couple's baby survived.
The father had dropped off the girl in their so called "Babyklappe," a box intended for desperate parents to anonymously drop off their babies.
According to German media reports, neighbours described the man as a 69-year-old architect who left his original family in Bavaria to start a new one in Berlin with his 28-year-old secretary.
Berlin police said neighbours called the emergency services after noticing that the family's car had not been moved for several days and a window had remained open.
