Diplomatic battle looms in UN over Syria

As street fighting raged near the Syrian capital, a diplomatic battle looms at the United Nations where Arab League delegates have been meeting diplomats ahead of a Security Council meeting on Tuesday.

The Arab League wants the Security Council to act on an Arab peace plan that would call for President Bashar al-Assad to leave power.
